As a key member of the Visual Merchandising team, the “Visual Merchandising Manager” drives sales by building merchandising direction for stores in partnership with Purchasing, Marketing, Training, and Operations. Reporting to the Director, Visual Merchandising, this role ensures all store types are the most effective in showing products and services to support the sales process. Through device and accessories merchandising, and space planning to show promotions and other services, the VMM communicates our offerings to the customer and is key to a healthy business.

This role supports The Mobile Shop™ (a fully-owned division of Loblaw Inc). The Mobile Shop is located in over 200 Loblaw and Loblaw-affiliated stores across Canada. As one of the largest multi-carrier retailers, The Mobile Shop offers customers a wide selection of wireless providers in a convenient and customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Determine planograms for all locations, in discussion with Purchasing, to support the buy and showcase devices and accessories to drive the business.
Build planograms using software determined by Glentel teams. Update planograms as needed to react to the business, creating iterations for all store types.
Manage VM communication to field team to ensure stores align to corporate direction and have excellent visual presentation.
Support presentations on promotions and services beyond devices and accessories – residential, bundles, PC points promotions.
Be a resource for field teams to support, answer questions, and receive feedback on direction and communication processes.
Maintain VM ticketing process to address store issues, in a timely and responsive manner to support the field.
Develop training materials with Training department, to ensure all teams understand VM concepts and techniques. Use multi-media as needed to facilitate training.
Maintain strong working relationships with field teams, including Regionals, DMs, and SMs to ensure alignment and gather feedback on store execution and corporate direction.
Work with Marketing, OEMs, and carriers on in-store signs. Support print production, distribution, kitting, and communication as needed.
Work with Purchasing on LDU and mock devices needs, support distribution as needed.
Work with VM Facilities teams on device security and other display items required, support re-order and re-supply as required by the field.
Work with Marketing team on opportunities in stores, support Marketing team with planogram execution.
Manage new store opening VM process with documentation and communication to ensure stores open to the highest standard.
Review store designs and work with Loblaws store design team to evolve and update store design as needed.
Manage special projects as needed, support special events, communicate with OEMs, carriers, and vendors as needed.

Minimum 3-5 years Visual Merchandising experience, ideally in mobility or consumer electronics.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Design, or related field.
Understanding of retail priorities, processes, and standards.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong project management skills, experience in working with multiple departments and priorities.
Innovative, self-starter, able to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced retail environment.
Experience with planogram software and field communication tools.
