Volunteer Admin - Support for Depression, Family/Caregiver Support and Education

Role Description:

To provide administrative support to the Support for Depression / Family & Caregiver Education Coordinator regarding group administration, coordinating co-facilitator volunteers, and supporting the training of new volunteers.

The Volunteer is expected to commit to a minimum of two, 3.5-hour shifts. Shift hours should be performed Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30.

Commitment:

Adhere to CMHA’s written volunteer policies and procedures
Agree to a minimum of six months of volunteer placement with a minimum of 2 half days (3.5 hrs.) per week.
Attend relevant meetings as needed (including site meetings, 1-1 meetings, team meetings, etc.)
Attend volunteer schedule as agreed with staff supervisor
Be aware of and follow all health and safety procedures
Complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check
Inform the supervisor immediately of concerns regarding the welfare of clients or volunteers
Inform supervisor of incident(s) within 24 hrs.
Maintains confidentiality with respect to information about clients, family members, and others
Notify program coordinators, in advance if you are not able to come as scheduled
Regularly check the CMHA email account
Submit volunteer hours on UltiPro on a bi-weekly basis
Duties:

Approving/monitoring of volunteer hours and completing volunteer check-ins
Assist in the scheduling and facilitating of volunteer training
Complete word processing tasks as required
Filing, including setting up new files, as requested
Photocopying, scanning and faxing
Prepare documents, packages, and handouts for distribution
Support the coordinator in reviewing/interviewing potential new volunteers

AODA, WHMIS, and Violence in the Workplace.
