Job description
The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust are searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Ward Host/Hostess to join their highly compassionate team.

The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium-sized acute and community trust with over 525 beds and over 600 community staff, service more than 600,000 people living across Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.

Job summary:

To satisfy the needs of the patients whilst consistently achieving the service and product delivery standard. You will collect, store, regenerate and delivery crockery, cutlery, patient food and beverages to ward areas. You will also be responsible for serving and clearing food to patients.

Responsibilities:
• To maintain records of temperatures and remedial action taken where necessary.
• To prepare Soup, Custard and Gravy if required.
• To take Patient meal orders and places the order with the kitchen on time to avoid unnecessary delays.
• To check food delivery from the kitchen and set the patient tray according to the order.
• To wash, rinse and sterilise all used crockery, cutlery and service equipment's using the dishwasher.
• To respond to the pace of the business in terms of work and productivity.
• To ensure the Kitchen is clean and tidy at all times and demonstrate professional best working practices in all your duties.
• To acknowledge all Patients in a polite and friendly manner as per the company standards.
• To acknowledge and act upon individual patient needs whilst observing cooking standards.

Requirements:
• Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
• Educated to degree level or NVQ Level or equivalent experience in a service industry
• Management qualification or equivalent experience at senior level
• Knowledge of budgetary control and management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately both written and verbally
• A friendly and approachable manor
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
