Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the initial and ongoing training of the night shift staff
Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate personnel, motivate the shift by collecting and providing metrics and daily feedback to individuals and the team, and delegate tasks to warehouse workers
Night shift tasks include accurate product receipt from vendors and accurate order fulfillment in picking operations
This individual must have high personal standards for quality and delivery, with a passion and aptitude to adhere to all necessary food safety, OSHA, and company policy requirements
Safety & Compliance
Development of safety practices for night selectors
Create, maintain, and make visible a motivational tracking system for night shift adherence to safety and compliance practices
Enforce all standard processes
Review paperwork submitted by night shift staff to ensure it is complete and correct
Maintain Cold Chain compliance
General warehouse sanitation
Hire, Performance Manage, Motivate, Retain, and (as required), Terminate staff
Manage the schedule - understand the case volume and staff the shift appropriately
Training Duties
Development and delivery of training strategy, plan, content (Training will cover areas such as the accurate loading and picking of products into routes, as well as other necessary company policies)
Maintain compliant training completion records
Initial and ongoing training of night shift team
Service
Exceed accuracy goals and reduce operational errors
Create, maintain, and make visible a motivational tracking system for night shift accuracy and productivity metrics
Maximize productivity - keep the team focused to achieve the highest productivity standards when selecting
Maintain staffing flexibility to minimize overtime
Step-in to help in any capacity necessary, including but not limited to:
Picking of orders; checking orders, loading orders into vehicles
Dropping of product into the slots as necessary
Unloading of trucks and filling out receiver slips
Stocking received freight
Leading the final signoff of correctly picked and palletized orders
Loading the delivery vehicles
Searching for shorted items that the selectors could not find
Invoicing the orders
Other duties as assigned including but not limited to:
Analyzing errors and execution plans to correct them
Monitoring picking rate, volume, and error rate and develop ideas for improvements
Supervising vacation calendar for Night Shift personnel
Communication with office regarding problems
Must be able to work weeknights and Sunday night
Overtime must be approved by the Director of Plant and Operations
Must clock out for lunch
Other duties as assigned
