Web Designer

Responsibilities

1. Consistently create well-designed, tested code using best practices for website development, including mobile and responsive site design
2. Create websites and user interfaces, using standard HTML/CSS practices, while incorporating data from back-end databases and services
3. Create and maintain workflows with teams to provide visibility and to ensure workload balance for consistent visual designs
4. Develop or validate testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices to ensure various computers can access content
5. Maintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology.
6. Work quickly and carefully to complete small edits requested by customers, develop plans for completing larger projects, collaborate with colleagues, and suggest new solutions to improve existing websites.
7. Perform UI designs and coding, creating reusable objects and templates, wireframes for web pages, and email templates; manage maintenance updates, expansions, and scaling of each design
8. Take part in initial kickoff meetings and communicate UI/UX designers on design ideas using user flows, process flows and wireframes.
+. Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to ensure SEO-friendly website design and development.
10. Optimising sites for maximum speed and performance
11. Working with marketing and research teams to incorporate brand elements and relevant market research findings into the website
12. Providing internal support and external customer service throughout the build and launch process of the website
13. Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for clients.

Skills and Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in any specialization or equivalent in web design, multimedia design, or related field
2. Experience planning and developing websites across multiple products and organizations
3. Working knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services, such as CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP and web user interface design (UI)
4. Proficiency with content management systems, including WordPress
5. Dedication to innovative, sophisticated designs and collaborative problem solving
6. Experience with eCommerce
7. Proven ability to accomplish projects adhering to outlined timeline and budget.
8. Experience implementing and using modern web development workflows and operations using a variety of tools including GitHub
