ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Reservations & Distribution, the Web Developer, Booking Engine works closely with the Global Vice President, Revenue Optimization and the the Ecommerce Department. Through the "booking engine" e-mail box, the Web Developer, Booking Engine interacts with member hotels, the Revenue Account Management team and PHG's Central Reservation System provider. Infrequent calls with member hotels and the Central Services team can be expected.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Create and modify hotel-level configurations and themes to the SBE responsive format, including implementation of analytic code when required
2.Scrape hotel website design essentials for Hotel Booking Engine ("BE") build
3.Create user friendly HTML emails with matching themes to hotel websites
4.End-to-end testing and troubleshooting of Hotel BE customizations
5.Fully implement analytics in Hotel BE, including marketing pixels and use of Google Tag Manager
6.Understanding of Redirect Tool and implement based on hotel and PHG requirements
7.Maintain .NET Test Hotel Website ("")
8.Maintain and update BE documentation as needed
+.Provide input to recommended BE enhancements
10.Understanding of Preferred Brand BEs to provide design/support as needed
11.Other assignments as directed by Executive Director, Reservations & Distribution
12.Respond to all inquiries to BE inbox according to established service levels. Take appropriate action and track appropriately in the Jira ticketing system.
13.Respond and action Microsoft Teams chat and conference calls for internal and external customers as needed.
14.Troubleshoot all reported BE issues; escalate as needed.
15.Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to defined problems and recommend the most appropriate course of action. Implement as directed.
16.Create and update appropriate Jira and CRM cases and Pro Tools to document work completed and hotel BE activations confirmed based on transactional production reporting.
17.Continued education on tools and techniques in the field of web development (defrayed by PHG where applicable)
18.Participation and presentation in education webinars for member hotels and PHG associates may be necessary on occasion.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Knowledge of Web languages, technologies: JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, .NET/C#, PHP,
2.Working knowledge of Responsive web design
3.Knowledge of Web tracking vendors: Adobe, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
4.Strong understanding of back-end development and integration with front-end design
5.1-2 years' experience or college degree in relevant field
6.Proficient verbal and written English communication skills, written proficiency test will be required
7.Working sample of an active web booking engine designed by applicant will be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Currently requires remote/homebased working. Work hours will be +:00 am - 6:00 pm IST, may be required to work 2-3 days per week (as needed) as late as +pm India Time in order to liaise by conference call with Chicago office. Occasional in person meetings may be required. Incumbent is seated most of the time
