We at Cormack Islander Aircraft are proud to be a Part-145 organisation with a Part-21J and Part-CAMO approval specialising in the maintenance, refurbishment and rebuild of the Britten Norman BN2 Islander. Not only this however our recent transition to become Employee-Owned means that our employees within the trust get an indirect stake within the company.

Our primary focus is to complete work to a high standard and in a timely manner. We are based in Scotland however have clients all around the world. Our engineers between them have over 100 years’ experience working on the BN2 Islander.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Workshop Technician at Cormack Islander Aircraft. As a workshop technician, you will be;

assisting in the management of tooling,
carrying out check calibrations,
inspecting/testing/repairing parts for recertification,
ensuring paperwork is up-to-date and correct.
If successful, you will be involved in the organisation and efficient running of daily workshop operations. From processing parts for re-certification, to communicating between departments, you will be responsible for completing multi-level tasks in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications/Requirements

Completion of a modern apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Aeronautical/Aircraft Engineering,
Experience in testing, inspecting and repairing aircraft components in accordance with the aircraft/component maintenance manuals,
Strong organisational and time management skills,
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
Attention to detail and accuracy in the completion of paperwork,
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word),
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Ability to multitask, organise, and prioritise work,
You have personal integrity and good business understanding,
For this role you must also have evidence of the right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities

Follow the procedures as set out in the MOE, MPM and SMS,
Process parts and tooling in a timely manner,
Coordinate with stores on goods incoming and outgoing from the workshop,
Assist in the smooth daily running of the business,
Ensure effective communication both internally and externally,
Keeping paperwork up to date and stored appropriately,
Interact with IT, phone and building personnel as needed.
Additional Information

Our working hours are Monday-Friday 0800-1630.

All employees are entitled to 28 days holiday a year (inclusive of bank holidays), once you have completed two continuous years, your holiday entitlement will increase one day per year to a maximum of 33 days.
