• Location: Bethesda, MD
• 100% On-site
• Monday – Friday
• 8am-5pm
• 6-month contract to hire
Necessary Skills
• 3+ years in accounting role, ideally in a service-oriented industry.
• Strong experience with Month End close at a large company (100+ Million revenue company).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience working with a large ERP systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
A day in the role…
• Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounting, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved timely.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations.
• Maintain and update month-end close checklists and calendars.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and maintain accruals and prepaid schedules.
• Collaborate with other department to gather and review financial information.
• Participate in special projects and system implementation as needed.
