About the role:

The Finance and Investment Services team leads the development of budget strategy; provides financial, grant, procurement and contract management advice, services, and support, whilst ensuring the management of public funds is aligned with Government legislation and the Department’s Enterprise Plan.

As the Finance Business Partner – Grant Administration, contribute to the effective financial management of the Department’s grant programs. Working closely with program managers, grant recipients, and cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment in the use of public funds.

You will:

Support financial oversight of grant applications, disbursements, and reporting.
Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reports, budget adjustments, and cash flow analysis.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including system administration and debtor management.
Administer purchase card access and provide staff support.
Provide financial advice aligned with departmental and Treasury policies.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Shared Services SA, and grant recipients.
Key Competencies:

To apply and succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate:

Knowledge of government financial systems (e.g. Basware) and grant management regulations.
Strong data analysis and reporting skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
Proven commitment to client-focused service delivery.
Experience in financial analysis and presenting information clearly.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
A Team-focused approach with initiative and the ability to work independently.
Clear and concise presentation of financial information.
Remuneration:

Competitive salary $76, 561 to $80, 256 pa plus superannuation

Qualifications:

Essential: Nil
Desirable: Relevant degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent.
Special Conditions:

The role will be offered as a full-time (37.5 hours per week), short term contract position until 30 June 2026
A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) will be required prior to employment.
