Join our Environmental Water and Floodplains Team in the North West Branch as an Assistant Project Officer. This temporary position, until 30 June 2025 with possibility of extension, offers a unique opportunity to work with communities on environmental issues. The key responsibilities for the Assistant Project Officer – Environmental Water will be to organise and support with the operation of Environmental Water Advisory Groups providing essential secretariat and administrative services.

As an Assistant Project Officer, you'll be part of a dedicated team assisting with various stakeholder advisory groups in the North West valleys. Our region covers over 50% of the state, encompassing the Border Rivers, Gwydir, Namoi, Macquarie, Barwon-Darling, and Intersecting Streams valleys.



About You

Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Experience or ability to draft clear and concise correspondence, briefings and other written materials
Experience or ability to provide secretariate support to stakeholder advisory groups, panels or committee’s
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desirable - Experience in environmental or natural resource stakeholder engagement.


Essential requirements:

Current Driver’s Licence
Willingness to travel
