Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for an Assistant Design Manager to join the project team at Monklands Hospital, in Glasgow.
This is the perfect opportunity for an individual post graduation, with 2-3 years experience!
The Assistant Design Manager ensures that all design information is reviewed in line with the design management procedures for completeness and compliance with contractual obligations, including factors such as programme, buildability, safety, maintenance and technical suitability. In addition, the Assistant Design Manager manages the production, control and distribution of design information at different project stages and ensures regular progress reporting of the design is in place.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Supports our consultant teams to maximise their effectiveness and value optimisation in the provision of effective integrated design solutions that meet our clients our business needs (strategies and budgets).
• Maximises the effectiveness of consultant relationships.
• Reviews design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and handover of total engineering excellent solutions for our clients.
• Supports our consultants in adopting LOR's design processes, deliver with rigour and quality project management processes and to ensure effective collaboration throughout the supply chain (using appropriate tools for this including, but not limited to, BIM/Digital Engineering).
• Captures business knowledge and capability enabling continuous improvement, innovation and improved capability towards an Engineering Enterprise.

Requirements
• First degree in Architectural or Engineering Discipline (Civil, Structural, Mechanical Electrical). Other appropriate construction related qualification plus design related experience.
• Experience working with design consultant teams.
