Your role at St John of God Mount Lawley Hospital
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant in Nursing to join our friendly, supportive team, in the Surgical Unit.
As a member of our friendly and approachable team, the Assistant in Nursing (AIN) will be responsible for supporting the nursing care team in the delivery of a high standard of patient care in the acute care environment.

The role is offered on a permanent part-time basis, offering up to 28 hours per week.
The Position
Plans, collaborates and consults with nursing staff to achieve desired health outcomes for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
Assists Nursing caregivers to deliver all aspects of care using a patient-centred approach.
Observes and reports all changes in patient’s condition to the Nursing staff in a timely and appropriate manner.
Perform manual handling of patients under supervision of Nurse.
Maintains confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patients and demonstrates empathy and sensitivity towards patients and relatives.
Maintain safe, clean unit environment in accordance with duty list that contribute to patient/ caregiver comfort needs.
Ensure that all food is handled and stored according to the relevant Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations.
Is accountable for performing all duties in accordance with the Statement of Duties list, within a demonstrated competency level.
To succeed you will have an ability to demonstrate competence and perform the skills contained within the statement of duties. You will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, work effectively with a team and have a willingness to accept feedback on performance and development from Nursing staff.
You will be actively enrolled in, and successfully completed at least 12 months of an NMBA approved Bachelor of Nursing &/or Midwifery or Diploma of Nursing, or completed the nationally recognised qualification Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance (acute care).

Salary: $60,265 to $63,27+ (pro-rata), plus 11.5% superannuation
Permanent Part Time offering up to 28 hours per week
