Summary
We're searching for an experienced and confident Assistant Manager to join our growing team at the Sky Blue Tavern. As the leading sports bar in Coventry with an established customer culture, you will oversee daily operations and lead a team to deliver exceptional service in a sports bar and grill setting. Reporting to the General Manager, your core skills in supervising, team management, and culinary experience will be essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality. You will utilize your leadership abilities to foster a positive work environment and keeping the venue at the forefront of innovation in the city
Staff Management: Assist with hiring and training of new recruits, including ensuring adequate staffing for food and beverages
Customer Service: Handle customer queries and feedback, both online and in house to ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
Operational Support: Oversee daily operations including bar service, food service, and overall cleanliness and maintenance of the pub.
Front of House Inventory: Assist in managing stock levels, completing order forms and ensuring efficient stock rotation.
Financial Tasks: Support the manager with budgeting, reporting, and cash handling, as well as daily cash up procedures
Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Marketing and Promotion: Assist the marketing manager with developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
Staff Development: Mentor and support staff, helping them develop their skills and career progression.
Admin: Complete weekly KPI reports, keep POS systems up to date, keep yourself in the know regarding upcoming sports fixtures
Required Skills
At least 1 years experience in a similar role
Proficient in using a computer, and ability to learn internal systems
Can think of your feet and use your own initiative
A sports fan with a good general knowledge about multiple sports
Strong team management and leadership skills
Proven restaurant and culinary experience
Knowledge of food safety standards
Experience in bartending and beverage service
