Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 321 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. We are looking for an Assistant Manager of Finance & Business Support to join our team and support the Director of Finance in producing timely monthly accounts while ensuring compliance with IHG policies and procedures. You will work closely with our outsourced BSC team and internal finance associates to support the operational finance functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and CSA controls, to ensure the smooth back-end running of the hotel.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but mostly you will:
Maintaining and ensuring proper update of daily transaction to ensure accuracy of information and entries.
Responsible for month end closing including the IHG and owner reporting package, ensuring delivery deadlines.
Analyzing monthly financial accounts and provide financial information to management.
Controlling all balance sheet accounts by preparation of monthly account reconciliations including but not limited to bank and inventory reconciliations.
Reviewing the accounts payable balance to ensure accuracy and proposes action and follow up on long overdue accounts.
Reviewing accounts payable purchase journal and accounts payable/inventory interface.
Reviewing and verify travel agency commission payments.
Maintaining and ensure proper update of contract, License, CAPEX and Fixed Asset Disposal Form etc. timely and accurately.
Assisting with the monthly forecasting and yearly budget input.
Supervising junior members of the Finance team as required.
What we need from you
Ability to work autonomously, be proactive and take accountability for workload.
Ability to manage multiple tasks whilst demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
Strong communications skills that can guide, confidentially influence and build professional rapport with department managers, leaders and colleagues.
Tertiary studies in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Previous experience within Hotel Industry or within Tourism and Hospitality is desired
Tech savvy with IT literacy in Microsoft Office suite, and Finance systems
Fluent in the English language; extra language skills would be great, but not essential.
Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene.
Full working rights within Australia with no restrictions.
