The Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious Audio-Visual Technician to join our creative and friendly team at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham City. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to build a career in the audio-visual and event production industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of the in-house Production Manager at ESR.
- Provide technical support for clients using Eastside Rooms’ various meeting spaces.
- Assist clients with connectivity to in-house installed equipment.
- Build and develop long-term client relationships through exceptional client care.
- Support the venue sales and operations teams with technical assistance.
- Work as a technician on live and hybrid events at the venue.
- Manage and maintain On’s equipment residing at the venue.
- Assist the in-house Production Manager with CAD drawings and quotes if required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in live event audio-visual technical installation, support and operation
- Excellent client care with a friendly, approachable manner.
- Proven ability to learn new skills and systems quickly and effectively.
- Experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
- Good timekeeping and task management.
- Knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Numerate and literate.
- Responsible, assertive, approachable, adaptable, honest, tactful, and diplomatic.
Working Hours
The role is based on a 37.5-hour workweek. However, due to the nature of event installation and operation, flexibility is essential. Shifts may include early starts, late finishes, and a mix of weekdays and weekends.
