Job description
Who are Blick Rothenberg?
Blick Rothenberg are a leading tax, audit, accountancy and business advisory firm founded on personal integrity and technical expertise. Based in Covent Garden, we are a firm of approximately 800 people. Many of our clients are part of substantial groups with strong international connections. Others are SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) operated by their owner-managers, High Net Worth individuals, professional firms and charities.
Our partner-led approach ensures that our clients receive an excellent service from a team of high-quality people who combine technical expertise with personal integrity. Our ethos is reflected in the way that we work with our clients, taking the time to understand their business and invest in the relationship to ensure that we can provide the best advice possible. We want success for our people, our clients and for our business.
Blick Rothenberg is committed to improving the diversity of its workforce across all levels by building a culture that’s genuinely inclusive, a culture where everyone can fulfil their potential and can be themselves.
We seek to attract smart talented people from the widest talent pool as well as those that reflect the diversity of the communities we live and work in.
BR supports flexible working (BRighter working) and aims to allow you to balance your life with the needs of colleagues and the high expectations of our clients.
Our values are our motivations
We have four key values, collaborative, authentic, respect and dynamic and these values are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for people who also believe in these drivers as we work together to achieve success for both our colleagues and our clients alike.
What does the role entail?
Our audit apprenticeship is based within our Audit, Accounting and Outsourcing department. This team provide services to a wide range of clients, from business owners and stakeholders of international groups to family and smaller privately-owned businesses including those with private equity backing.
Working within our audit and accounts teams, you will get exposure to all facets of preparing and auditing year-end financial statements as well as preparing the related corporation tax returns. You will gain a genuine mix of experience across different business sectors and from large international corporates to small and medium sized UK businesses.
You will study the Level 4 Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) qualification on this apprenticeship. The certificate consists of the first six exam modules of the ACA qualification but is globally recognised as a stand-alone qualification as well. Post completing the certificate, we would expect our trainees to progress through to the full ACA training programme to qualify as Chartered Accountants.
This role will start in January 2025.
Key accountabilities
When you join Blick Rothenberg as an early careers professional, you gain much more than a professional qualification. You join the Blick Rothenberg culture and way of life. You will enjoy early responsibility and will find our business to be friendly and our working environment to be both lively and stimulating.
To balance the demands of a busy role and study, our teams host regular social events, and our annual firm-wide Summer and Christmas Parties are enjoyed by all.
We are committed to the development of our trainees. In addition to you training with our external training provider, we run regular in-house technical training courses as well as practical personal development training such as communication, teamwork, and transition to the workplace.
Skills & experience
For us, the personal attributes of each of our colleagues are what makes us authentic in the marketplace. We look for people who:
• Can collaborate with peers but can also bring their own voice to the table. Are dynamic in their approach and respectful of other people’s opinions. Want to be more than just a team member, someone who wants to join a family of likeminded individuals. Want to work in a medium-sized firm such as ours. Are inquisitive and enjoy learning new concepts.
Other
We are not looking for someone who knows everything already, but someone who is committed to their development and keen to work hard and learn.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are also necessary, as is the ability to work as a member of a team.
To get the job you’ll love you will require:
• A minimum of 112 UCAS points from your A-levels (or equivalent). A minimum of three GCSE grades +-4 (Old A-C grades). These should include Maths and English. The right to work in the UK from January 2025.
