Join the cutting-edge world of automation and work with state-of-the-art material handling systems as an Automation Engineer in our Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team in Australia.
Why This Role Matters?
As an Automation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless operations in Amazon's logistics network. You'll identify faults, troubleshoot controls solutions for automated material handling equipment, mentor colleagues, and drive innovations that impact daily customer deliveries.
Key Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with the RME team to provide high equipment availability to internal customers.
Coach technicians in control system fault finding to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Work with the AU/EU Controls network to enhance monitoring of Material Handling Equipment metrics.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide data visualization to internal customers.
Collaborate with IT, EU Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.
Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment with Global teams.
Support other Australian sites as required.
Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Develop strategies for code compliance with IEC 61131-3 standards.
About the Team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team ensures optimal equipment performance. We're a skilled team of collaborative professionals led by experienced leaders, working together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network.
Requirements
Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in continuous processes or production environments.
Support experience for various conveyors and sortation systems.
Familiarity with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
Computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or technical degree.
ISO 1384+ and ISO 62061 framework experience.
Multi-site environment experience.
Project management experience with Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement techniques experience.
