Job description
We are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) with proven technical expertise and leadership skills to support our customers, drive design wins, and lead strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, able to interface between engineering, sales, and customer teams, while also mentoring other members and contributing to organizational growth. This is a hybrid role based in our Diamond Bar, CA office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead technical discussions and troubleshooting efforts for complex customer issues.
• Ability to work as highly technical problem solver, understand system architecture, hardware, and software interaction
• Collaboration, Working with Sales, Engineering, Management, and Operation teams to initialize or support ASUS ISBG products.
• Attention to detail is a must for projects, which may include many moving parts in the equation
• Gathering business and application requirements from the customer, including forward interaction and promotion of ASUS products
• Leading training and education efforts on ASUS and market technology, focused on customer needs and requirements.
• Attend industry related trade show and joint customer meeting
• Travel may be required, and this may involve on-site customer visits, troubleshoots or tradeshow.

Knowledge and Skills
• Able to support, partner and answer pre-sales and post sales technical engineering questions to internal sales team and external
• Ability to draw upon technical and/or product knowledge in configuration of ASUS or related products is a plus.
• Experience in installing, configuring and maintaining server platform (rackmount, blade, tower), motherboards, CPU, (Intel Xeon, and AMD EPYC) and Memory, storage (SATA/NVMe), networking (10/25/100GbE).
• Customer focused and analytical mindset with good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage workflow priorities
• Confident speaking in front of large groups and/or senior management
• Focused on taking initiative to solve problems and create positive results
• Provides technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of such solutions
• Highly technical problem solver who understands system architecture, hardware and software interaction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture, familiarity with Firmware, Linux, BIOS, BMC, Windows and virtualization platforms.

Required Qualifications:

Years of Education
• College degree (Bachelor) in related field or 3+ year’s equivalent job experience

Work Experience
• FAE for server products
• Strong ba
• ckground and experience with x86-based server architecture
• Solid hands-on hardware system experience and diagnostics skills.
• Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms.

Working Conditions
• Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time
• Up to 20% travel (US region), this may involve on-site customer visits troubleshoot or trade show
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time “with assistant if required”.

$90,000 to $130,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
