Job Summary
The Team:

This posting is for 2 (two) Operation Manager positions which will join the regional leadership administration team for either the Skeena or Northeast Regions. These regional teams are motivated and collaborative groups which include the Executive Administrators and the Performance Management Analysts for each region. These teams work closely with the Regional Executive Director (RED) and the Regional Management Team (RMT) and interacts with Band 3 colleagues, supervisors, and staff from other Ministries. Though often behind the scenes, these teams play a key role in helping regional leadership, collaborate and coordinate on key strategic items. Their work drives region-wide recruitment and retention, hiring, safety coordination, and communication. Team members are very supportive of each other and their counterparts in other regions of the Province.

The Role:

The role of Operations Manager is crucial in enhancing regional team support by managing hiring needs, leading onboarding processes, and coordinating safety, issue management, and communication efforts. The position aims to streamline hiring and onboarding, easing the workload for hiring managers and ensuring a more positive experience for candidates. Candidates should be excited about the opportunity to work in a dynamic resource management ministry, contribute to a diverse and passionate team, and play a key role in shaping a positive and growth-oriented workplace. Job Requirements:

University degree or diploma in a field related to natural resource management, or business/public administration, or equivalent
Experience in the supervision of multi-disciplinary operational staff.
Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with partners in natural resource management, work on leading high profile projects and collaboration across diverse teams.
Valid B.C. driver’s license
Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

Two (2) or more years of experience in human resources and performance management (i.e. hiring management, onboarding, training plans and initiatives, staff or team engagement, annual business planning, etc.)
Two (2) or more years of experience leading collaborative, coordinated hiring approaches or strategies across various work units and hiring managers.
Development and implementation of operational plans and/ or best practices consistent with regional objectives and legislative requirements.
