Job Description for Building Maintenance Engineer:
The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks to ensure the proper operation, safety, and appearance of the property. This includes responding to guest repair requests, conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and system issues, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. The role requires basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems, as well as strong communication and customer service skills.
Key Duties:
• Respond to and address guest repair and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members to resolve maintenance issues
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on tools, kitchen appliances, and mechanical equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Visually inspect equipment, tools, and systems to identify potential issues
• Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed
• Collaborate with team members, support common goals, and address coworker concerns constructively
Requirements:
• Successful candidates will need to show proof of a high school diploma or a G.E.D equivalent.
• Experienced in general maintenance responsibilities, specifically in the areas of painting and surface preparation for indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Having a history in hotel engineering or maintenance work can be beneficial
• Being licensed to drive legally
• Supervisory experience is not a compulsory requirement
