Silver Star Mountain Resort is destination resort which services both day and vacation guests. The Central Reservation department is responsible for providing information about the Resort, using a variety of media to potential guests and for making hotel and activities/services reservations for people planning vacations.

The Reservation Agent reports directly to the Central Reservation Supervisor and Manager. The staffing level is expected to be five full time seasonal positions plus three year round employees.

The most challenging aspects of the position are maintaining a high level of output while giving exceptional service to the customer. Interruptions are unavoidable and must be dealt with calmly and professionally.

The Reservation Agent is responsible for all incoming inquires via phone and email, providing general information about all aspects of Resort to potential customers as well as making accurate hotel and activities/services reservations for on mountain guests. All correspondence, statistics, reports, activity reservations and general clerical duties fall under the responsibility of the reservations agent. Internally, the Reservation Agent works closely with the Front Desk staff at the hotels, Resort Services, the Ticket Office and the Reception desk staff.

Contact with all these people ensures the smooth flow of operations and correctness of all reservations. Updated October 2024 SFM Central Reservation Agent Position Externally, the Reservation Agent has contact with independent travelers, travel agents, wholesalers and tour operators are funneled through the wholesaler coordinator or booking agent.

To meet the demands and high pace of the Reservation Agent position, the individual must have an above average knowledge of the Resort with the capabilities to be expanding their knowledge every day. Professional telephone skills, accurate typing and proficient communication are all important abilities the potential reservations agent must possess.

The reservation agent position is a full time seasonal position based on a minimum of a 35-hour workweek to a maximum of 40-hour workweek.

The Central Reservation Manager must authorize all over-time in advance. Presentable, clean and neat attire is necessary to work in the Central Reservation office. More information on this subject is available in the employee handbook.

Accountabilities:

 Sell on-mountain accommodation and tickets directly to the consumer in an efficient profession manner by understanding all policies, procedures and guidelines of the Central Reservation Office, Ticket Office and Resort Hotels.

 Provide detailed knowledge of the resort by knowing and understanding all aspects of the Resort and having the information up-to date and accessible at all times.

 Communicate and correspond with the guest, supervisor upon completion on a timely basis by composing clear, concise forms and tables.

 Maximize and expand personal knowledge of business practices, policies and procedures and general Resort knowledge by readying, education and asking questions.

 Address any and all special projects as outlined by the Central Reservation Manager or VP of Resort Marketing and Sales by receiving and clarifying and instructions. Working Conditions:

The position of the Central Reservation Agent requires a detail-oriented person who is a team player. The ability to stay on top of a multitude of details while at the same time answers the same questions every day. Extensive computer usage is necessary on a daily basis and complete focus in needed, as interruptions are inevitable. Organization and time management skills are an asset in this. This position is a full time seasonal:  Based on a minimum of a 35-hour workweek to a maximum of 40-hour workweek with flexible hours within a seven-day week, payable biweekly by direct deposit.

Operation hours can range from 8am till 7pm
