About the Role
The Client Liaison Officer is a key member of our team, responsible for providing high-quality customer service and investigating matters relevant to individuals with disabilities.
As a specialist in client needs, you will advocate for clients and their carers, linking them to relevant services and agencies as appropriate. Your portfolio will consist of client files, which you will manage effectively to ensure seamless support.
Key responsibilities include:
Visiting clients and their carers in their homes throughout Australia to investigate matters concerning independent living skills, accommodation issues, emotional and physical wellbeing, and support requirements.
Providing authoritative reports with considered recommendations to assist decision-making in relation to client funds to meet ongoing needs.
Investigating and assisting in crisis care and counselling situations, making recommendations on financial and policy implications where necessary.
Undertaking research into relevant services provided by government, non-government, private providers, and community services, identifying new services and their potential impact on clients.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Supreme Court Act 1+86, Trustee Act 1+58, Guardianship and Administration Act 201+, Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006, and Rules of Court, as they impact upon fund administration for persons under disability.
Familiarity with National Standards for Disability Services is also essential. Experience in human services, including provision of services for clients with ABI, mental health issues, substance abuse issues, and survivors of trauma, is highly desirable. Ability to have difficult conversations while being sensitive to client needs is crucial.
