About the Role
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until December 2025, with the possibility of extension.

The Communications Lead will develop and deliver communication and engagement for the major network service change when the Metro Tunnel opens.

This is a high-volume, fast-paced delivery communications role that requires being organised, detail-focused, adaptive to changing information, responsive to internal and external stakeholders, and able to interpret technical information into plain English.

Key Responsibilities
Produce comprehensive communication plans and collateral for use across traditional and digital channels.
Define messaging and channels, transfer technical terminology to easily understood language, reflect potential issues, and propose mitigations.
Partner with project teams to gain a deep understanding of the project and understand the communications needed to meet the delivery remit.
Deliver communication and engagement plans at a high standard, with identification of risk mitigation strategies within outlined timeframes.
Work with VIDA, MTPO, and the broader transport portfolio to ensure a consistent and clear message is delivered to the public.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will have experience in developing and executing external-facing communications plans.
They will demonstrate expertise in project delivery, defining tasks, coordinating work activities, identifying risks, and monitoring progress to ensure agreed outcomes are met.
The candidate should have strong stakeholder management capabilities, able to navigate and address complex, often competing internal and external stakeholder needs, and facilitate solutions to resolve issues.
What We Offer
Meaningful work making Victorian communities more accessible and liveable.

Professional growth and development opportunities across the department and the wider Victorian Public Services.

A hybrid working model focused on collaboration and teamwork.

Optimal work-life balance initiatives including flexible working arrangements.

Opportunity to work across multiple urban and suburban hubs.

We prioritise the development of a safe and inclusive culture.
