Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is a 316 room 5 star Hotel located in Mascot near the Sydney domestic airport and home to the biggest conference centre at the airport. The Role
We are currently looking for a highly motivated, passionate, result driven C&E Manager to join our Conference & Events team at Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.
This role may suit a hands-on and vibrant professional in Conferencing & Events, looking to take the next step in their career path from an experienced Executive role.
Key responsibilities and tasks consist of, but are not limited to:
Manage Conference & Events activity and service levels within the team to ensure the successful coordination of events. This includes but not limited to the administration of inquiries, proposals, and contracts as well as record keeping, invoicing, payments, and reporting
Coordinate vendors, exhibitors, stakeholders and other departments during event planning and delivery
Develop and maintain client relationships
Coordinate and conduct site inspections when required
Conduct customer sales and feedback correspondence with past clients
Conduct research to identify new markets, customer needs and industry trends
Proactively follow up quotes and enquires to develop business
Assist the Team to achieve sales targets set in conjunction with the annual budget, by converting inquiries into bookings and managing costs
Collaborate with Marketing and be responsible for conceptualizing and creation of social events, e.g. festive lunches, themed dining events, high tea, etc
Attend trade functions and promotions as directed for networking opportunities
Keep up to date with the competitive marketplace in order to implement strategies to ensure the hotel stays ahead of the local market
Provide regular reports on revenues against budget, and to provide accurate forecasting
Close accounts in a timely manner
What we are looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Events, Hospitality or related field (desirable)
Minimum 2-3 years experience managing functions and events within events or hospitality industry
Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and managing large scare complex events
Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to manage conflicting priorities
Strong leadership skills & visionary change agent with the ability to create and champion new business
Exceptional attention to detail
High standards of personal presentation and grooming
Sound knowledge of the Hospitality Industry
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and meet deadlines
Knowledge of Delphi Sales Force system is an advantage
Must be available to work on weekend events (if required)
Excellent written and communication skills
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
