About the Commercial Contracts / Property Lawyer position:

Sellick Partnership is thrilled to be assisting a Local Authority in Essex, who are seeking a Contracts or Property Lawyer to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis.

Our client is seeking a part-time Contracts or Property Lawyer, who would have the availability to undertake this position for two days per week. This role is to be worked on a hybrid basis, with attendance required at the office a couple of times per month.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, friendly and forward-thinking Local Authority, who are looking to expand their permanent team.

Responsibilities of the Commercial Contracts / Property Lawyer:

As a Lawyer within the Council's Legal Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for handling a technical legal caseload of complex, politically sensitive cases. The role will include, but is not limited to;
• Handling JCT, contracts, procurement or property matters, including regeneration projects
• Participate in pier and foreshore projects
• Assist with trust and charitable work
• Conduct legal research to support casework and policy development
• Experience required for the Commercial Contracts / Property Lawyer
• Qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
• Prior experience in commercial contracts or property
