Fehr & Associates is a consulting company helping junior mining companies since 2010. We specialize in being an "outsourced accounting department" for a number of small companies, but we also do special project work. We have a passion for accounting and like to take on tricky accounting work. You will get good experience in our environment and you will have fun if you love accounting like we do.
We are seeking an experienced accountant who can take the role of controller for 3 of our clients. With their CPA and three years of senior accounting experience. This role would be great for a recent CPA graduate who is eager to learn and work in a fast-paced environment. A CPA student in Core courses may also qualify. You will gain experience working with C-Suite executive as you report directly to the CFO and will build your professional skills as you tackle accounting challenges.
Key Duties
Key duties of this role include:
· Assist the CFO with preparation of annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS for multiple clients.
· Assist the CFO with preparation of annual and quarterly Management Discussion & Analysis (“MD&A”) in partnership with the Corporate Secretary for TSX filing.
· Ensure completeness, accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of records related to daily transactions.
· Manage Client payroll and related government remittances
· Prepare audit materials, liaise, and coordinate with external auditor for the Client annual audits
· Manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations (low volume)
· Establish and maintain internal financial control process and procedures
· Maintain share capital working papers for warrants and stock options based on Black-Scholes model
· Handle the Company’s GST filing (quarterly) and T2 Corporate Tax.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
· Experienced in IFRS accounting policies and accounting treatment
· CPA Designation or CPA Core level with experience
· 3+ years of public accounting experience (In Canada or Australia only please)
· Experience with consolidation of multiple entity organizations
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
