Arcana Brisbane, a unique warehouse-style event space just 7km from the Brisbane CBD, is seeking a reliable, Australian-resident Kitchen Cook to join our team.This is a part-time opportunity for someone studying, or for anyone looking to work flexible hours in a dynamic environment.
On-the-job training will be provided directly by the owner of Arcana, making it an excellent role for someone eager to sharpen their skills under direct mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Kitchen Operations: Coordinate kitchen activities and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
Team Support: Work closely with and assist the kitchen team, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.
Inventory Management: Help with ordering, stocktakes, and minimising food waste.
Health & Safety Compliance: Keep a clean, safe, and organised kitchen, following all health and safety guidelines set by Brisbane City Council.
Quality Assurance: Ensure dishes are consistently prepared and presented to Arcana’s standards.
Cost Awareness: Support budget goals by helping manage stock control and portioning.
What We’re Looking For:
Must be an Australian resident.
Reliability and excellent time management are essential.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a must.
Solid understanding of food safety and basic cooking techniques.
Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Team player with good communication skills.
Culinary degree or formal training is a bonus but not required — experience counts!
Working Conditions:
Flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.
Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
Hours
Part Time (minimum 10 hours / up to 30 hours)
Level 3 food and beverage attendant grade 2
Cook grade 2 means an employee who has the appropriate level of training and who performs cooking duties such as baking, pastry cooking or butchering.
As per the Pay Guide - Hospitality Industry (General) Award (MA00000+)
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $25.80 – $38.70 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
