Primary objective
Under the direction of the Acquisition and Disposal Manager, coordinate day to day preparation of vehicles and equipment for disposal
and accident repairs in an effective and efficient manner to ensure the greatest financial return possible.
Context statement
NT Fleet manages the light and heavy fleet for most government agencies and is responsible for the management, purchase, disposal, and
maintenance of the fleet. Vehicles are leased to government agencies at commercial rates with a key focus on providing low cost, fit for
purpose vehicles which meet operational needs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. The timely preparation of vehicles and equipment for disposal, including transfer of asset and other associated documentation
including, updating of relevant databases, and trimming.
2. Responsible for coordinating the transport of vehicles for disposal from remote localities to auctioneers or other locations as required.
3. Responsible for coordinating vehicle accident assessment, repairs, quotation, and repair orders, and working with Agency Fleet
Services to resolve third party claims.
4. Initiate and provide accurate advice to the Acquisitions and Disposals Manager on a range of matters related to the effective and
efficient disposal of NTG fleet vehicles, plant, and equipment.
5. Prepare Disposal reports with details of vehicle and equipment condition, logbooks and optional equipment fitted.
6. Under the guidance of the Acquisition and Disposal Manager, review the Auctioneers recommended valuation to ensure prices are
comparable to NT Fleet’s expectations and residual values.
7. Prepare early return calculations, purchase pricing, reserves and recoverable documentation for endorsement or approval.
8. Actively participate in contributing to innovative ideas and solutions to all aspects of business.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience in the automotive industry, with demonstrated knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair requirements in order to
provide accurate advice and recommendations relating to motor vehicle repairs, servicing, registration and fleet management.
2. A working knowledge of large fleet operations with experience in the provision of accident repair assessment.
3. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication, and computer literacy skills with the demonstrated ability to prepare a range
of reports, documents, and correspondence.
4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
5. Ability to analyse information, provide accurate advice and recommendations based on evidence; suggests improvements to work
tasks and business practices.
6. Commits to achieving quality outcomes with demonstrated ability to organise and achieve own workplace objectives; including proven
experience in exercising time management, initiative, discretion, confidentiality, problem solving, decision making at the delegated
level of responsibility, be flexible, adaptable and manage stress in a busy environment.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful, and
innovative.
8. Hold a current Northern Territory drivers’ licence (minimum C Class) or equivalent.
