Job Description
Pedestrian Group is on the hunt for a creative and organised e-commerce editor to join our award winning website PEDESTRIAN.TV on a 12-month parental leave cover contract.
The role calls for someone with digital newsroom experience, a journalist mindset, and a proven track record in creating high performing content across affiliate content pillars, including fashion, beauty, lifestyle, homewares, tech and/or gaming.
Reporting directly to the Head of Editorial and based out of our Sydney or Melbourne office, you will be responsible for producing affiliate content daily, in addition to reporting on results, managing key affiliate relationships, and assigning / editing affiliate stories where necessary.
The ideal candidate will be a results hungry writer or journalist with a drive to create engaging content for our Gen Z and millennial audience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce e-commerce stories on PEDESTRIAN.TV per week, using data insights and a journalist mind-set to create highly engaging, on-brand affiliate content that resonates with PEDESTRIAN.TV’s Gen Z and millennial audience
Ensure each story demonstrates excellent written and journalistic skills, as well as reflecting strong editorial judgement and adhering to brand guidelines
Work closely with the Head of Editorial in executing the affiliate content strategy across PEDESTRIAN.TV
Manage relationships with key affiliate partners, including Linkby, Skimlinks and Whistleout
Manage content strategies for all major shopping events (such as Black Friday, Christmas gift guides, and Boxing Day)
Optimise existing content based on market trends, SEO and analytical insights
Respond to flat-fee affiliate briefs alongside our partnerships team
Regularly report on affiliate performance, wins and key learnings
This is a full-time, 12-month role contract role based out of Pedestrian Group’s offices in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Qualifications
Strong writing and editorial skills with a passion for creating high-performing content across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, homewares, tech, and gaming.
Experience in using CMS, SEO optimisation, and amplifying content on social media.
A keen interest in affiliate content and understanding of what drives young Aussies to click, share, and buy.
A data-driven mindset, using tools like Google Analytics to optimize performance.
The ability to work collaboratively with the editorial team, taking feedback and editing content when needed.
Proven experience in a digital newsroom, with a focus on affiliate content.
Familiarity with affiliate marketing programs (e.g., Skimlinks, Linkby) and social scheduling tools (e.g., Metricool, Later).
Basic photo editing skills (e.g., Canva) and experience creating vertical videos (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels).
