Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and education, with the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires excellent communication skills, both in English and preferably in French, to effectively engage with children and their families. A commitment to fostering the development of each child's unique abilities is essential.
We are seeking educators to work in our before and after programs as well as possible coverages through out the day.
Director approval may be granted for educators with a Recreation and Leisure or Child and Youth diplomas.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships.
Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents regarding their development.
Utilize computer operation skills to maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate with families.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience through shared resources and ideas.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate children with special needs or diverse learning styles.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
Ability to operate computers for administrative tasks related to teaching responsibilities.
Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as they can enhance communication with diverse families.
