Technical Specialist Role

The Technical Specialist is responsible for the set-up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems for live events while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction. This position reports to a Project Manager, Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.

Main Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation

Sets up, operates, and breaks down advanced audiovisual equipment during live events to ensure flawless execution.
Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves problems quickly.
Fulfills all Company security and safety measures.
Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage.
Customer Service

Provides excellent service, exceeding customer expectations and needs.
Maintains positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
Collaborates with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
Understands and fosters hotel/client relationships.
Training and Staff Development

Create an atmosphere that fosters technical and leadership skill development among colleagues.
Provides mentorship and coaching to employees to develop technical skills.
Event Supervision

Works closely with operations team members on pre/during/post event activities.
Supervises and directs other technicians during live events.
Equipment Maintenance

Assists with equipment security, storage, transportation, and maintenance.
Conducts inventory and forecasts equipment needs.
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
Encore Technical Level 3 Certification is required.
2 Encore Technical Level Two Core Certifications are required (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video, Scenic).
4+ years of experience in specialty area.
3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience (preferred).
Ability to interact professionally with diverse workforce, customers, and management.
Project management experience.
Strong customer, client, and coworker interface experience.
A valid driver's license is required for team members operating Company vehicles.
