We are currently seeking an Events Officer to join a small but dynamic team within the Arts and Libraries Branch. The branch consists of Festivals and Events, Creative Industries, the Museum of Australian Photography, and the Monash Public Library Service.
About the Position
The Event Officers are responsible for the creation, planning and delivery of Council’s major community and civic events. Events in the City of Monash are planned and implemented within a community cultural context, working with colleagues and contractors to ensure the delivery of high-quality signature events for the city and facilitate a high level of community engagement to support the development and delivery of a relevant and engaging arts and cultural festival program.
Key Selection Criteria
Extensive experience in the development and delivery of effective community events in a safe, compliant event and risk management framework, preferably within a local government context
Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and manage complex projects
Experience in program development of Live Music, with experience in navigating permits and licences
A highly developed understanding and experience in working with diverse community groups, committees, organisations and community cultural diversity
Experience with marketing, financial, logistical and resource management relating to events
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people
