Executive Director

Menlo Forward advocates for smart growth and quality of life in Menlo Park. The executive director of Menlo Forward is responsible for leading efforts to ensure a vibrant future in Menlo Park and its neighbors with an initial focus on ensuring that the real estate development at 80 Willow Road aligns with the City’s state-approved housing development plan.

This position reports to the Menlo Forward Board of Directors. You must be local to the Menlo Park area.

Responsibilities
• Ensure that any development at 80 Willow Road aligns with the needs and preferences of the community
• Champion a positive, responsible vision for the long-term development of Menlo Park
• Fundraise to support Menlo Forward
• Partner with Menlo Forward’s board of directors and staff to ensure the organization’s goals are accomplished
• Manage budget and operation, including all people and projects involved this effort
• Prioritize initiatives with a goal of maximizing impact relative to effort

Required qualifications
• Passionate supporter of Menlo Forward’s position
• Experience managing a fast-moving early stage organization with limited resources and in a rapidly-evolving complex area
• First-rate communicator who is comfortable with public speaking and social media
• Creative outside-the-box thinker who can generate fresh ideas and handle unexpected obstacles

Also a plus
• Fundraising experience
• Experience interacting with or lobbying to local and/or state government entities
• Respected member of the local community with an extensive network
