Financial Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, we require a switched on Finance professional.

Commercially driven with a value add mindset and being an integral part of the finance function, the purpose of this role is to maintaining accurate financial records and prepare financial statements for end-of-month and end-of-year accounts, providing insights for continuous improvements.

This role will also manage, mentor and support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Functions.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensure month end tasks including all GL reconciliations are completed accurately and on time;
Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure that invoice processing, payments and collections are made on time. Provide mentoring and support when issues are escalated;
Forecasting of monthly foreign exchange files and ensure foreign currency hedging files are maintained;
Assist in the preparation of budget/forecasts;
Working with a cross functional team to ensure Fixed Asset reporting and capital spend is accurate; and
Participate in both internal and external audits.
The key measures for this role include but are not limited to:

Results delivered on time in an accurate and complete manner;
Find and implement solutions with Right First Time thinking; and
Support direct reports with a view to increase knowledge and performance.
To be successful in the role, the candidate must:

Possess a degree qualification in either Commerce, Accounting or Finance;
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an Accountant role;
Have experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Navision is an advantage;
Proficiency in excel;
Demonstrate good communication skills;
Be able to develop effective working relationships within Finance and with other departments;
Approach tasks with both a high level of attention to detail and good time management; and
Show a willingness to learn and develop own skill set.
