Council’s Community Partnership Branch is offering an exciting temporary opportunity for a Fruit Fly Murray Valley Regional Coordinator. This grant-funded position is set to run until June 30, 2025.

This role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home and adjustable work hours.

About the Opportunity


The overall goal of the Regional Coordinator is to finalise the delivery of the Fruit Fly Murray Valley Regional Strategy 2021-2025 and associated Action Plan to improve Queensland fruit fly (QFF) management under the Agriculture Victoria – Victorian Fruit Fly Strategy grants program.

This role involves managing and directing activities, ensuring policy compliance, and collaborating with the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to keep stakeholders informed. Additionally, you'll handle financial and contractual responsibilities, ensuring accurate documentation and acquittal. Strong project management and communication skills are essential.

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

Tertiary Qualifications in a related field of agriculture/horticulture, biosecurity or science and relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience in a related field such as project management.
Experience in project management, including contract and budget management and reporting.
High level communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) and ability to represent the Fruit Fly Murray Valley Regional Advisory Group, preferably with knowledge of Queensland Fruit Fly and fruit fly prone commodities.
Demonstrated understanding of management issues and experience working within the corporate governance environment (either working on or with a Committee/Board).
Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 7 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $101,+30 to $114,058 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
