Job Description
The GM - Medical Affairs is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the medical affairs strategy, operations, and activities at Montu.
This position demands a strong understanding of clinical research, regulatory requirements, and healthcare policies, alongside exceptional leadership and communication skills.
This role is critical in ensuring the effective communication of scientific data, supporting clinical development and providing expertise to cross-functional teams including clinicians, researchers, regulatory affairs and marketing teams to ensure that patient care is safe, effective and evidence-based. In addition, this role will be pivotal in influencing healthcare policies by leveraging expertise and knowledge to effectively advocate for patient rights and access to care.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the medical affairs strategy in alignment with Montu’s goals and to enhance patient care.
Lead and manage the medical affairs team, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development.
Collaborate with senior leadership to shape corporate strategies, especially in product development, commercialisation, and market access.
Conduct Actionable and Pragmatic Research
Provide input into study design and data analysis, ensuring the generation of high-quality, actionable data.
Oversee real-world evidence (RWE) studies to monitor and confirm the ongoing safety and efficacy of products.
Collaborate with researchers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and the medical community to facilitate the execution of studies and advisory boards.
Advance the Industry and Regulatory Standards
Set new industry standards by leveraging clinical data and innovative approaches.
Influence regulatory policies and practices through data-driven insights and advocacy.
Advocate for patient rights and access to quality healthcare products.
Collaborate with the broader medicinal ******** community to collect and standardise data, contributing to the advancement of the field.
Represent Montu and the wider industry on various topics, sharing data insights and medical expertise.
Education and Distribution of Insights/Standards
Manage the publication of clinical data in peer-reviewed journals and on other platforms, ensuring wide dissemination and recognition.
Implement medical education programs and workshops for healthcare professionals (HCPs), enhancing their knowledge and application of the company's products.
Attend and present at medical conferences, representing Montu and contributing to the broader medical dialogue.
Engage with the medical community, regulatory bodies, government officials, policymakers, and patient advocacy groups to support and promote initiatives aligned with Montu’s mission and goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with commercial, regulatory, legal, and compliance teams to ensure the alignment of medical strategies with business objectives.
Provide medical insights to support market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies.
Engage with patient advocacy groups and other external partners to support patient-centric initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a medical or commercial field with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry context.
Experience:
Medical Affairs: Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
Regulatory and Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in navigating new and changing medical and regulatory environments.
Research and Industry Practice: Pragmatic approach to research-based evidence with a focus on maturing industry practices and actively driving adoption by the medical community.
Skills and Competencies:
Expertise in data analysis and interpretation, particularly in real-world evidence.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
Commitment to ethical standards and patient advocacy.
Proficiency in managing scientific publications and educational content dissemination.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel as required for conferences, meetings, and engagements with stakeholders.
