What is this position about?

The Global Markets Officer role sits in the PB Client & Trade Service team within Global Market Operations. The purpose of the role is to provide a premium service to Cash Agency & PB clients and the Front Office acting as the single point of contact regarding post-trade management and daily operational activity across all asset classes the Desk trades. By leveraging the synergy from client services and trade support functions, the team is also coordinating production & issues solving with all internal Operations departments aiming to be more client-focus and to improve turnaround time, services quality and client relationship management.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Scope: Cash Equity, Synthetic Equity, FX, Listed Derivatives, Term Funding

Supports the Synthetic Prime Brokerage, Cash Prime Brokerage, Cash Agency and Delta 1 business lines
F2B SME Escalation Point, Business Facilitation, Strategic Deliverables and Control Functions
The Officer Partnership with Trade Support whereby the Trade Support & Settlements team is an extension of the Officers who also perform an overview function.
Escalation point and liaison for bespoke RTB issues from Operational layers and Front Office
Assist with escalated P&L Queries and Issues from Finance
Attend regularly occurring meetings with Operations utility groups & review and monitor of MIS (Trade Capture & Reconciliation)
First point of contact for New Business Initiatives
Perform T-Zero Controls
Perform high risk actions to ensure smooth settlement of trades, and resolve escalated breaks
Liaise with clients as and when required to ensure smooth settlement of trades
Perform complex high risk reconciliations which require close communication with Front Office
Provide information upon request by the Desk
Provide Desk support for all queries regarding Corporate Action bookings
Create, analyse and communicate all KPI’s
Participate to global projects related to BNPP PB processes improvements
Participate to local projects related to systems migrations. Identify issues, raise enhancements and contribute in testing of requirements
Active follow up on updating procedure documentation
OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS
Be solution-oriented with strong diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
Bring solutions to new business initiatives for development
Propose process improvements to improve client journey.
Contribution to BNPPs operational control framework
Minimize operational failure, including but not exclusively the risk of fraud by helping to devise and by implementing sufficient regular controls
Ensure appropriate escalation to management and/or permanent control (or compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.
Comply with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements
Comply with the BNPP standards of Code of Conduct
Comply with the BNPP IT Security policies
Anti-Money Laundering / Financial Sanctions “AML/FS”) related duties: Operations are an integral part of the control framework including for AML/FS topics. In that respect, in performing your role you are expected to ensure adherence to AML/FS related Group Policies and execution of associated operational controls, and to promptly escalate any resulting hit for analysis and decision.
What is required for you to succeed?

A thorough understanding of financial markets and Global markets products. Strong equity derivatives and FX products knowledge (including the Front-To-Back workflows, corporate actions and the product event management)
Proficiency in Excel
Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills.

Desired knowledge, skill, experience

Previous experience in PB industry in Trade Support or Operations role (with equity background) is preferred
Experience with Traiana and related 3rd party products advantageous
