Your new role

As a Production Engineer/operations manager, you will be at the heart of optimising the processes and system within Goldies Farms. Your key responsibilities will include:

Operations

Monitor and manage bird welfare, including feed and water intake, bird behaviour and shed climatic conditions through daily shed walks and monitoring of shed controls
Monitor and manage daily logistics of farm stock, including egg collection, feed, packaging and egg stocktakes and feed, packaging and egg deliveries
Document bird performance and through existing benchmarking data systems and compile weekly reports of performance
Monitor and manage egg quality and quantities to ensure consistent and high-quality product output and to ensure existing company standards are met
Monitor, operate and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality in compliance with established company standards
Conduct routine maintenance, repair equipment faults, install machinery and complete fabrication tasks
Follow all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures. Identify and report safety issues within the farm and the broader workplace to maintain a safe working environment
Ensure all farm operations are consistently carried out and paperwork documenting this accounted for daily to comply with industry regulations and company policies to ensure bird welfare and egg quality is always achieved
Production Improvements

Analysing production processes and systems to highlight areas for improvement
Conducting system studies and rolling out improvements to increase throughput
Developing, with consultation with management, LEAN production techniques to streamline production and boost efficiency
Providing training to employees on new systems based on LEAN principles and practices
Participating in continuous review of systems looking for areas of improved efficiencies within the farm with a focus on farm and technological innovation
Investigate areas of expansion into the future and propose best practices to achieve this expansion
Investigate and implement areas of improved sustainability within the farm
What you'll need to succeed

A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles
Excellent project management, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
The ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team/family environment
Passion to work with and care for animals
Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Commitment to maintaining optimal animal welfare conditions
Familiarity with industry standards and auditor regulatory requirements
Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting on production metrics to management
Demonstrated ability to effectively operate and navigate current farm operating software
