Overview

Duties
Routine Safety Inspections: Carry out regular safety checks on HGVs and trailers to ensure they meet roadworthy standards.
Pre-MOT Preparation & Defect Rectification: Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and rectify defects to ensure they pass the inspection.
Repairs & Breakdowns: Handle breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and carrying out necessary repairs to maintain fleet reliability.
Refurbishment & Installation Work: Perform refurbishments and installations, ensuring work meets quality standards and is completed on time.
Record Keeping: Document all work carried out and maintain accurate records for compliance and future reference.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside the team and management to ensure smooth operations and efficient workshop workflows.
Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
Previous experience in HGV repairs and servicing, including trailers.
Strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence (Class 1 or 2 preferred but not essential).
Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and MOT preparation processes.
Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Attributes
Experience working with a variety of HGV makes and models.

Ability to handle breakdowns and repairs under pressure.
Previous experience in fleet maintenance environments is an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience (£30,000–£45,000 per annum).
