The HR Advisor plays an essential role in the provision of timely and high-quality HR advice and support across the department. The HR Advisor is accountable for the management of all HR queries received through the Business Partnerships inbox and must be comfortable providing clear advice in relation to complex HR policy and employee relations matters.
As a HR Advisor, you will be required to proactively assist Senior Business Partners in the provision of HR advice and support services within defined portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
As HR Advisor, you will specifically:
Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 201+ and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Provide timely and accurate HR advice through research, analysis and accurate application of HR policies, directives, industrial instruments and legislation to unique employee relations matters.
Build professional client relationships to create working partnerships and a high level of understanding of client needs to facilitate quality human resource management practices throughout the department.
Assist Senior Business Partners in the delivery of HR education sessions and HR capability building initiatives across the department.
Foster and build relationships across the department and People and Culture, to build internal capability and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Deliver high quality customer solutions that contribute to the organisational objectives.
Actively contribute to and maintain records, case and file management systems.
Assist in the preparation of submissions, reports, correspondence and executive briefs on significant human resource issues.
Maintain a sound knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices to ensure currency of knowledge and skills and service outcomes for clients.
Maintain and publish relevant documents, policy and procedures on the department's intranet site.
