The People & Culture Department consists of 27 employees across 4 teams:
- HR Services (HR Operations/Administration and Employee Relations)
- Health & Safety
- Organisational Development
- Organisational Equity & Inclusion
The role
Partnering with various business units across Council, you will provide specialist HR advice and support to leaders to strengthen their people management skills and build capability.
While no two days are the same, your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting management and staff through IR/ER matters including performance management, grievances, and investigations.
Interpretation of awards, policies, legislation, and Council’s Enterprise Agreement
Supporting departments through organisational change including restructures
Providing support through the recruitment and selection process including position establishment, position description development, developing sourcing strategies, and assisting in interviews.
Working closely with the Injury Management team to assist in the management of employee health matters
Reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
Contributing to or leading HR projects and initiatives
About you
As an experienced HR professional, you will have the capacity to influence and develop positive client relationships and adapt to the needs of a range of varied stakeholders.
Along with your ability to think laterally and solve complex problems, you will be well organised and can prioritise a range of competing demands in a busy environment.
You will have a relevant qualification in Human Resources or substantial experience as a Human Resources practitioner, including demonstrated ER/IR experience (particularly in the area of performance management).
