The Human Resources and Payroll Manager, will primarily be responsible to identify current and prospective staffing requirements, prepare and post notices and advertisements, and collect and screen applications. This position will oversee personnel management, including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies. This role will also oversee the orientation of new hires. The Human Resources and Payroll Manager must hold a graduate degree or an advanced degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the industry and have five plus years in a Human Resource Generalist capacity.

Job Duties

Provide resolutions to employee relations issues by adhering to the company investigation policy and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records that are in compliance with legislative requirements
Establish and maintain relationships with strategic business partners, employees and Vendors
Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal
Ensure that safe work practices are being followed
Ensure that all employees take allotted vacation time in compliance with applicable employment and labour standards
Coordinate employee performance appraisal program
Coordinate and participate in selection panels to evaluate candidates
Address and resolve inappropriate employee behavior and special performance issues
Identify current and prospective staffing requirements, prepare and post notices and advertisements, and collect and screen applications
Oversee the orientation/onboarding of new hires and the training of all employees
Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals
Develop employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met
Update policies and procedures as necessary to stay compliant with government legislation
Processing and Preparing Payroll
Job Requirements

Degree or an advanced degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the industry
Certificate in Human Resource Management or Five years of experience in human resources Generalist or Manager roll
Proven ability to develop and implement training and development courses
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation specific to our industry
Strong conflict resolution skills
Experience managing LTD, Benefits, WCB and return to work programs
Experience with coaching and employee development
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
