Key Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll for over 100 domestic employees using a payroll processor platform, ensuring accurate calculations for salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
Manage CRA remittances, T4s, and Records of Employment (ROEs) in compliance with Canadian payroll regulations.
Process monthly payroll for over 100 foreign contractors using a freelance talent platform.
Reconcile payroll accounts and integrate data with general ledger for financial reporting.
Maintain employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
Collaborate with HR to update employee data (e.g., new hires, terminations, benefits).
Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries promptly.
Support audits by providing payroll documentation and ensuring segregation of duties.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Payroll Administration, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
2+ years of payroll experience, preferably for medium sized businesses in Canada.
Proficiency with various payroll processing platforms and accounting software; experience with Quickbooks Online is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and CRA requirements.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
