Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with design development: Help with sketching and illustrating new designs, creating mood boards, and assisting the lead designer with brainstorming ideas.
• Fabric and material sourcing: Research and assist in sourcing fabrics and materials that align with the brand's sustainable and adaptive values. Work on finding new fabric vendors and exploring innovative materials that enhance the collection’s quality and sustainability.
• Exploring embroideries, Prints, and Design Elements: Research new embroidery techniques, prints, and design trends that align with the brand’s aesthetic and sustainability ethos, helping to incorporate fresh elements into the collections.
• Tech packs & product specifications: Help prepare and organize tech packs for each design, detailing fabric, trims, measurements, and other specifications for production.
• Trend research: Conduct research on current fashion trends, colors, and styles that align with your brand’s ethos, and prepare reports to assist the design team in staying on top of trends.
• Assist in sample development: Help in coordinating with pattern makers and manufacturers for creating sample garments, checking fit, and making notes for adjustments.
• Admin & organizing: Assist in organizing design files, keeping records of fabric samples, patterns, and other materials. Help maintain the design team's calendar and track project timelines.
• Customer and market insights: Assist in gathering feedback on existing collections or conducting market research to better understand the target customer, ensuring designs are in line with customer needs.
• Production support: Support the production process by tracking timelines, communicating with vendors, and making sure everything aligns with the brand’s sustainable production practices.
• Market expansion & retail strategy: Research and identify new market opportunities, including domestic and international retail spaces, stores, or online platforms where the brand can expand its presence.
• Social media & content creation: Contribute to content creation for social media, including photography, video, and copywriting. Assist in strategizing social media campaigns to increase engagement and brand visibility.
• Collaboration & partnership opportunities: Work on identifying potential collaboration opportunities with stylists, influencers, or other brands to enhance brand awareness and expand reach.
• Brand communication: Handle communication for the brand, managing phone calls and emails with suppliers, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional responses.
• Graphic design & content creation: Manage graphic design tasks for the brand, such as editing ads for social media or promotional materials, and writing content for the website blog or newsletters.
