Kōrero mō te Tūranga About the Role
As the Labourer/Operator you’ll be working in local rivers and surrounding areas to establish and maintain river protection, tree plantings, and structures, noxious weed control, tree felling and clearance. This position provides the opportunity to gain various unit standards and obtain qualifications for operating wheels, tracks, rollers, and heavy transport vehicles over time.
Hours of work will typically be Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day. You will be required to be available for work during emergency events.
Starting hourly pay rate: $27.+5 to $28.70 depending on skills and experience
Mōu │ About You
To be suited to this role you'll have a strong environmental focus in everything that you do, and good knowledge of health and safety. You'll be able to work independently and unsupervised whilst producing a high standard of work within a team environment. Ideally you’ll have experience using 4WD vehicles, tractors, chainsaws, spray equipment, and other light machinery.
A full, class 1 driver licence is essential, and this role requires a medical check prior to an offer of employment due to the physical nature of the job.
