We are seeking a Learning and Development Student for our North American Headquarters (NAHQ) in Edmonton, Alberta, that is available for 4 months starting in May 2025.
As a Learning and Development Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Reviews and adds new courses into PCL’s Learning Management System (LMS)
Updates learning resources, including reference guides and videos
Performs data clean-up to maintain accurate records
Works within the LMS to make learning options more accessible and user-friendly
Participates in stakeholder meetings to manage learning objects (courses) in the LMS and foster a strong and collaborative approach across PCL
Assists in documenting well-defined standards and processes that support PCL’s learning infrastructure
Helps to plan and execute system-related change management activities.
Manages reports to support company metrics and KPIs
Researches best practices and industry trends and making recommendations for improvements
Applies principles of time management to track tasks and deadlines
Provides regular updates to immediate supervisor
What you will bring to the role:
Ability to think logically and analytically
Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team to tackle problems
Ability to communicate with other team members and groups, constructively expressing ideas and concepts
Writing skills for training guides, online learning scripts, and proposals.
Knowledge/skills in of some or all of the following is an asset:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
SharePoint and/or Egnyte (document storage and management)
Service Now (technical service tickets)
Visio Professional (process development)
PowerBI and/or Tableau (dashboards)
