Responsibilities
This position performs technical maintenance work to the plant facility and equipment
This position may also provide relief Plant Operator duties to assist with continued operation of the Plant
This position works night shift on a 12 hour rotating shift 7p-7a
Opportunity for lateral progression to Maintenance Mechanic II level with higher rate of pay
Inspects, troubleshoot and maintains assigned equipment
Completes preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and the plant
Monitors all activities for compliance with normal safety procedures
Performs corrective maintenance/repairs as necessary due to mechanical failure, damage, etc
Maintains maintenance and service records and reports, including work orders and inspection reports
Communicates with the Assistant Plant Manager and Maintenance Supervisor regarding current maintenance needs and scheduling
Interfaces with Plant Operator to coordinate activities
Informs Maintenance Supervisor of needed parts and/or supplies needed
Keep plants and maintenance areas clean and orderly
Enters activities in the appropriate log
Ensures maintenance procedures are properly logged
Assists with boiler cleaning activities
Assists the Maintenance Supervisor with other tasks and/or assist in any areas of the plant operations requiring additional assistance
Operates front end loaders and/or load ash truck as needed
Ensures all activities are carried out in a safe manner; adheres to all County safety regulations; assists co-workers in the safe handling of equipment; ensures equipment is safely operated and driving laws are obeyed; ensures all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed
Reports all accidents to the appropriate authority
Follows all policies for reporting, investigating, and follow-up of equipment incidents, or personal injuries
Other duties as assigned
