Our Global Support Office (GSO) is based in Zaandam in the Netherlands, but GSO associates also work in all the countries we serve. This team supports all our great local brands in finance, HR, IT, legal, communications, sustainable retailing, and other key functions. .
Chapter Lead Budget Control
As our new Chapter Lead Budget Control, you will operate at the heart of a part of our global, fast-moving company. By overseeing and optimizing the financial planning and budget management processes, you ensure Ahold Delhaize has the processes and structures in place to continue our high-level performance.

As Chapter Lead Budget Control, you will be joining our HR Tech, Data Innovation & Associate Experience department. Our HR department is the driving force behind the people in our organization. Key responsibilities of your role
Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:
Budget Oversight and Management: Ensure that all financial activities align with the approved budget. Regularly review and update budgets to reflect actual performance and forecast changes.
Budget Compliance: Enforce adherence to budgetary guidelines and organizational policies. Monitor expenditures to prevent overspending and ensure effective use of resources.
Cost Control and Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies within the budget. Implement strategies to reduce unnecessary expenses without compromising quality.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare timely financial reports to provide insights into budget performance. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate budgetary constraints and financial performance to chapter members and stakeholders. Facilitate discussions regarding budget priorities and adjustments as needed.
Forecasting and Planning: Develop and refine financial forecasts to anticipate future budget needs. Align budgeting processes with strategic goals and long-term planning.
Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks related to budget control and devise mitigation strategies. Develop contingency plans to manage unforeseen financial challenges.
Performance Metrics and Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate budget effectiveness. Regularly assess performance against the budget to improve future budgetary practices.
Training & Development: Educate chapter members on budget management practices and tools. Foster a culture of accountability and financial literacy within the chapter.

Requirements
We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
10-12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5-7 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
Relevant experience in budget management or financial analysis.
Proven track record of working closely with project managers and product owner teams.
Experience in HR technology or data-driven environments is a plus.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Oracle).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
