About the Role

Independently lead MSH's ongoing implementation of IPOLA reforms and associated activities across MSH including (but not limited to):
Review, evaluate and implement current plans (i.e communication, training).
Review and enhance information systems across MSH relevant to information privacy.
Chair the MSH IPOLA working group and provide guidance to the leadership team in information privacy and data security to ensure MSH meets its obligations.
Review, update and/or develop policies, procedures, collection notices, resources and tools.
Review existing systems and establish the necessary controls to comply with the Mandatory Notification of Data Breach Scheme.
Prepare and present high-level Executive and Board reports and communications to promote best practices in privacy, security and breach management.
Develop training materials and deliver training to all key stakeholders including MSH Executive and Metro South Hospital and Health Board.
Manage, oversight and advise Clinical Directorates, MSH Divisions including managers, supervisors and employees on specific IPOLA impacts and amendments relevant to their needs.
Provide expert advice and undertake risk assessments to address all risks associated with the IPOLA reforms and associated activities to enhance capacity in privacy, data governance and information management.
Review, monitor and advise on roles and responsibilities (including applicable delegations) regarding information privacy and security for MSH.
Review, monitor and update internal and public facing intranet/internet pages.
Oversee and collaborate with key stakeholders regarding the re-development and governance of Privacy Impact Assessments for digital solutions to ensure they align with the department and organisational objectives and that MSH complies with privacy and records management policies, data standards, and reporting requirements.
Build enduring relationships and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders (including the Office of the Information Commissioner) to improve privacy practices across MSH.
