Qualifications
Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs
Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation
Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator
Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary
Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management

Responsibilities
The Manager of Human Resources originates and leads the Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards and goal attainment
Develops, leads, and motivates a team of Human Resource professionals by setting the expectations and standards, while maintaining a high level of service standards
This is a hands-on role with direct responsibility through the payroll, benefits, compliance and support functions
This position aids in efforts to meet the strategic goals of the credit union, including providing outstanding service to internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core
Development of the Human Resources department
Oversees and manages the work of reporting Human Resources team
Provides a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis
Captures, analyzes, and understands the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth
Committed to fostering the development of others and providing a supportive environment for professional growth and enhancing performance
Leverages coaching as the primary tool for improving team performance
Accountable for planning, development, and implementation of effective human resource strategies and policies
Assists Senior Management in developing short- and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies
Administers operational plans, policies, and goals which further strategic objectives
Manages the preparation and maintenance of reports as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department
Prepares periodic reports for management to track strategic goal accomplishment
Oversees the HR help desk function by ensuring tickets are responded to in a timely and efficient manner that reinforces high levels of internal service
Responsible for the coordination of the tuition reimbursement policy
This includes promoting, tracking, coordinating reimbursement through payroll, maintenance and audit process
Develops and monitors an annual budget that includes Human Resources services, employee recognition, FUN employee events and benefits administration
Maintains and promotes our Employee Assistance and Wellness programs
Ensures employee safety report requirements
Stays up to date on employment and compliance with regulatory concerns regarding employees
This may include auditing HR policies like the I-+ process, payroll audit, tax documentation or employee file maintenance
Maintains a presence in our local communities through brand awareness and volunteer opportunities
Coordinating with Marketing department on reports and success of employee volunteer hours and programs
Fosters strong relationships with vendors and maintains systems such as the human resource information system, benefits related systems, etc
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines
In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature
Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance

Major Duties and Responsibilities
